I started working in the travel businesss in 1970. I have traveled to Europe, the Orient, the South Pacific, Australia, South America, the Caribbean, Hawaii and all stops in between. I have extensive knowledge of the Caribbean as it is a favorite destination of mine.

I have traveled throughout Europe by train and boat and plane.

I've sailed on several cruise ships in the Caribbean and Europe, from the mega ships that carry over 3000 passengers to those carrying only 100.

I've experienced the Amazon River, spending 3 nights in the jungle due to an unexpected monsoon that left us without a runway or a plane.

I've seen monster crocs in Australia, and tiny birds in Hawaii, elephants and camels sharing a traffic lane with taxis in Bombay and spectacular waterfalls in Brazil.

Overall, my knowledge of the world and my love of travel have kept me in a business I love.

My adventures have taken me to every Hawaiian island, most of the Caribbean islands,and to the South Pacific. Last year I went whale watching on a small boat in Molokai, and rode a mule down (and back up) the tallest sea cliffs in the world.I have snorkeled in the Hol Chan Preserve in Belize. I also have experienced many European countries, from city stays to country life and off the beaten path itineraries.Some of my favorites are Provence, the Amalfi coast,Venice, and Cornwall. Sometimes the biggest travel thrills involve just getting to your destination - riding the high speed trains, renting a car and reading road signs in another language, or strapping in to a seat on a float plane for the ride of your life.

Cruising has also been a part of my travel life.I have traveled on large ships, and on small intimate ships such as Windstar and SeaDream. Another favorite is crewed yacht charters. If you are looking for a very intimate sailing experience with just a few friends, I can help you find your sailboat, crew, and get you to the boat on time!

Let's not forget the U.S.A. either. I have traveled to most of the 50 great states. Special packages can be made up for most of the large cities, and also for Florida beaches, California coast, and a host of other stops in between. I can set up a custom made Napa Valley tour, a special getaway to Santa Fe, or a family ski trip.

Mary Jo Strosnyder
My name is Mary Jo Strosnyder.  I work for Katie Anderson Voyages and I have been working in the travel industry since February 2004.  Prior to that, I had a very successful career in health care.  Even though I worked in health care, it never took over my passion for travel. Whenever I could, I would go on a trip somewhere!

I’m sure my youth had a lot to do with my “wanderlust”.  I grew up as an “Army Brat” and have lived many places in the United States as well as in Europe. So travel is in my blood!  A couple years ago, while traveling in Germany, I passed a sigh that read Ansbach …. 20KM. I immediately became nostalgic upon seeing that sign, as I had lived there for 2 ½ years when I was a little girl.

I have great difficulty picking a favorite destination …. They all are my favorites!!  I have scuba dived the Great Barrier Reef in Australia; smelled and admired the orchids in Hawaii; been in the middle of a rally in Poland on Solidarity Day; stood on the 12th century Charles Bridge in Prague, Czech Republic; meditated in the Sistine chapel; worshiped in St. Peter’s cathedral and walked the ancient paths of Pompeii just to name a few.  The islands of the Caribbean are also high on my list of favorites and I consider St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. my second home. The islands are wonderful cruising destinations. The Caribbean also has excellent snorkeling and scuba diving sites.
